EVENTS DIRECTORY – CONTENT AND PERMITTED USE

ABOUT THE EVENTS DIRECTORY

The mexec Events Directory brings together information about events relevant to the industry. Event names, dates, locations, organiser details and links may be obtained from event organisers or other publicly available sources and are not claimed by mexec as its exclusive property.

However, mexec invests considerable resources in identifying, reviewing, selecting, verifying, categorising, maintaining and presenting the events included in the directory.

To the extent permitted by law, mexec owns, or is licensed to use, the original material appearing in the Events Directory, including:

• original event summaries and editorial commentary;
• the selection, structure, categorisation and arrangement of the directory;
• graphics, branding, design and page layouts; and
• other content created specifically by or for mexec.

PERMITTED USE

The Events Directory is provided to assist users in discovering relevant industry events.

Users may:

• view and use the directory for their own informational purposes;
• share links to individual pages on the mexec website; and
• refer to individual event facts obtained from the directory, provided that mexec’s original wording, presentation or other protected material is not copied without permission.

Nothing in these terms prevents a person from independently obtaining event information directly from event organisers or other original sources.

AUTOMATED ACCESS AND SYSTEMATIC EXTRACTION

Except with mexec’s prior written permission, users must not use any automated or systematic method to access, monitor, collect or extract content or data from the Events Directory.

This includes using:

• scrapers, crawlers, spiders, bots or automated scripts;
• browser automation or bulk-download tools;
• artificial intelligence agents or automated data-extraction systems; or
• any other technology designed to collect information at a scale or frequency beyond ordinary individual use.

Users must not:

• extract or compile all or a substantial part of the Events Directory, whether in a single operation or through repeated activity over time;
• circumvent access controls, rate limits, robot exclusion instructions or other technical measures;
• use automated access in a manner that places an unreasonable load on the website or interferes with its operation; or
• assist or enable another person to undertake any of these activities.

This restriction does not apply to general-purpose search engines indexing publicly accessible pages in accordance with mexec’s robots.txt instructions and other published technical directions.

REPUBLICATION AND COMPETING USES

Except with mexec’s prior written permission, users must not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, syndicate or commercially exploit:

• mexec’s original event descriptions, summaries or editorial content;
• the distinctive selection, categorisation or arrangement of the Events Directory; or
• a substantial part of the directory in a manner that reproduces, substitutes for or competes with the directory.

In particular, content must not be systematically extracted or incorporated into another directory, database, website, application, newsletter, aggregation service or commercial publication.

Limited reference to individual events does not require permission where the information is independently verified and mexec’s original expression or presentation is not copied.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING

Except with mexec’s prior written permission, content from the Events Directory must not be systematically collected or used:

• to create or expand a training, evaluation or benchmarking dataset;
• to train, fine-tune, test or improve an artificial intelligence or machine-learning model;
• as a source for a commercial retrieval, aggregation or automated content-generation system; or
• to develop or operate a service that reproduces or substitutes for the Events Directory.

This provision does not prohibit ordinary individual use of generally available software tools where those tools do not systematically extract, retain or reuse content from the Events Directory.

ATTRIBUTION AND PERMISSION REQUESTS

Linking directly to the mexec website is permitted and encouraged.

Attribution does not, by itself, authorise the copying of mexec’s original content or the systematic extraction or republication of the Events Directory.

Requests to reproduce, license or obtain structured access to directory content should be directed to mexec through its published contact details.

ENFORCEMENT

mexec may monitor access to the website and take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised automated access or misuse, including applying rate limits, blocking accounts or network addresses, and restricting access to particular services.

Where mexec reasonably believes that content has been extracted or used contrary to these terms, it may request that the activity cease and that unlawfully copied mexec material be removed or deleted.

mexec reserves all rights and remedies available under applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits any use that cannot lawfully be restricted, including any applicable statutory exception or right.
