Do you have strengths you did not know you had?
One of the top strengths that I uncovered at our recent Company Strategy Week meeting is Input Talent. People with strong Input Talents are inquisitive and always want to know more. They crave information.
I now know why I love going to conferences, why I don’t like to let information go, and why I save too many things—just in case!
When interviewing candidates or taking job briefs from clients, I also learn about different roles and people from them, which is input for me!
Input people draw on this information as it will prove valuable at some stage. It all made sense. I work in a career where information input and listening are key.
Our session with our facilitator, Rick De Paiva from You Who was also a great reminder of the team’s differences and diversity in strengths. It helped us understand a little bit more about why we are the way we are and how we can complement each other to achieve better success moving forward.
For you or your organisation: It’s also important to consider strengths when you think about your career next steps or as you build the team for your organisation. Reach out to Rick via us at [email protected], and we can put you in touch with him.
You Who partner with individuals and organisations to identify, explore, and leverage their unique identity to create authentic leaders, flourishing teams, and distinctive strategy.
See the pictures below of the week and testimonials from the team.
Cheers

Ever had to deal with 𝓷𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓮 damage?
It is excellent to partner with a local Australian company that is making an impact globally and to work with them to build out the team.
Mark Thomas and Marilyn Jones visited our client ReNerve recently on site.
Mark had placed Bruce Ngo as Project Manager, and it was great to hear the news about their recent IPO.
ReNerve specialises in developing a range of ‘ready to use’ products that are cleaner, safer and better for repairing or replacing damaged peripheral nerves, resulting in better patient outcomes.

BioMelbourne BioForum – Fireside Chat
Janice attended the recent BioMelbourne BioForum – Fireside chat: Turning innovation into market success
Australia’s life sciences development pipeline is flourishing, however, the number of home-grown medicines successfully securing FDA approval remains small.
Professor Andrew Wilks, co-recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Prize for Innovation, and Amanda Handley, Vice President at Medicines Development for Global Health (MDGH), were on stage.
Prof Andrew Wilks, an academic and serial entrepreneur celebrated for co-inventing and commercialising the ground-breaking cancer drug momelotinib, talked about navigating the complexities of turning cutting-edge research into global impactful and market success. Momelotinib, used to treat myelofibrosis, a cancer of the bone marrow, is only the second Australian drug discovery ever approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and a medicine that is now also Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)- approved.
Amanda Handley, an expert in global health innovation, shared insights from her leadership at MDGH, including the approval of moxidectin, a new treatment for river blindness – the first in over 30 years – recently approved in Ghana. Her work highlights the power of philanthropic partnerships, like those with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in delivering life-saving treatments to underserved populations.
| ARCS Regulatory Summit Stay Educated! Excellent & informative day in Canberra with ARCS Australia and Therapeutic Goods Administration – updates on all things Regulatory. ✔️Great to see collaboration across multiple countries leading to faster registrations of drugs and devices – COR pathways. Here at mexec we partner with many companies developing new innovative products. It’s fine to have an innovative product that is successful in clinical trials, but today highlights that you actually have to enable access to patients. So, thinking very early on about your regulatory strategy is essential as it can take time to get it in place. ❓Do you have early engagement with the TGA? |
Women in Leadership Awards
Marilyn, Janice and Emma were out and about representing mexec recently at the 2025 BioMelbourne women in leadership awards.

Congratulations to the winners!

![]() | ARCS Australia Clinical Summit It was good to have a stand at the ARCS Australia Clinical Summit to connect with the clinical and regulatory sector from around Australia. “Biotech is the ultimate team sport. No one has all the knowledge.”
“Australian Biotechs that happen to be based in Australia. It’s a global effort’
“Best founders are the ones that work in a great team with no silos.”
“First in class is where best to invest. The second is okay, but it’s better to be really good and different; after that, it’s not really investable.”
“Pharma won’t normally invest until after Phase I. Hence why VCs often invest with others as too risky when early to lose all your $”
“Nice to hear that VCs talk together and also co-invest together.”
“Great opportunity to review the recruitment landscape, set some growth targets and the 2025 focus, and determine how the various complementary strengths of the mexec team can enable their achievement.”
